Countrywide
Saturday 1st March 2025. Your county location at noon.
There is a Lord Lieutenant appointed for each of the counties as the King’s representative for that county.
A list has been generated of all the Lord Lieutenants across the country with addresses and suggested meeting points. It is under the link above marked "County locations". There are links to suggested meeting points using Google Maps.
Many counties have been merged or changed over the years, just pick whichever seems closest.
As many of the Lord Lieutenants have modest and private administrative offices which may be used for other tasks (some are at home or with a family solicitor for example) I have taken the view that it is more practical and reasonable to present petition letters in such cases at the most significant Local Authority office in the Lieutenancy. To ensure that any politically motivated persons amongst Local Authority staff do not interfere, I suggest that you wave your letter at the Lord Lieutenant (or the office if they do not turn up) and then post it in a Royal Mail postbox. If addressed as instructed, no stamp is required. This is why it should be pre-addressed as a precaution.
Suggested meeting points have been picked as a "map exercise" without local knowledge (in most cases) with the idea that they will be only a short walk and are near transport links and car parks.
Some are, unavoidably, at out-of-town Council Offices. Some of those may have restricted parking or access on a Saturday so plan ahead. Choose a suitable safe route avoiding dangerous road crossings. Some may not be suitable but I have done the best job I could single-handed. It is up to you now.
Strong and decent people can take a lead by arriving early at the meeting points with your nation's flag as a point for others to join together.
When cursing that it is not all organised, consider that this has been the work of one man doing what he can for the good and decent people of his country. It has taken a huge amount of work.
Whether you just deliver it quietly or go with flags and banners, trumpets and drums is up to you. However, getting into a load of trouble will not help so bear that in mind. That said, having video footage might be a good idea. In any case, avoid any trouble from other groups or counter protestors.
Your priority is to deliver your letter.
The Lord Lieutenant is the King’s representative so petitioning him or her is the same as petitioning the King directly.
It is illegal for you to be prevented from petitioning the King.
Note that you are not petitioning the Government, protesting against any particular thing or person etc. You are “Petitioning the King”. This is your legal protection.
Article five of the Bill of Rights 1688. Print a copy off and have it with you:
Right to petition.
That it is the Right of the Subjects to petition the King and all Commitments and Prosecutions for such Petitioning are Illegal.
